An old tradition wine, the Aglianico is the noblest and most important wine from south of Italy. Present in an Apennine strip that looks at 3 seas, Tirreno, Jonio, Adriatico, it represents the important southem red wines and it places among the best Italian red wines.

Variety grapes: Aglianico of Taurasi 100 %
Vineyard age: from 10 to 20 years
Vineyard exposure: south with north-south orientation of the row
Land’s composition: hilly, volcanic, argillaceous, calcareous lands
Altitude: from 400 to 650 metres
Grape harvest: the first days of November
Wine-making: at a controlled temperature (25/30° C) with a prolonged maceration
Aging: 24 months in French barriques “Allier”
Bottle aging: 6 months at least

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS
Colour: dark red ruby with garnet red inkling
Smell: distinctive, strong, persistent, with vanilla and liquorice gradation
Taste: typical, soft, full with a light aftertaste of jam, pleasantly spiced
Serving suggestion: first courses based of mushrooms, truffle, meat juice, game, red meat and ripe cheese
Serving temperature: 16/18°C
